WHITE NOSES. Primarily comprised of oil paintings, WHITE NOSES is a series of portraits and abstract paintings provoked by the beauty industry and the standards imposed on women everyday in advertising and media. The female characters feature imperfections often mentioned in makeup commercials including blotchy skin, "fine lines and wrinkles," and lack "voluminous, luscious" eyelashes. The collection was completed between 2012-2014. The abstract works are representative of conception and death of the characters.
