LINEAGE. Partially inspired by On Kawara's Today series, LINEAGE embodies an effort to create new work for each day for 30 days. Initially all works were created over a span of two hours, with a quill pen and archival inks. The pieces begin with a singular, similar origin line. Each structurally familiar start had a very different ending- forcing me to question the instinct and desire to escape and the seemingly inevitable need to return to one's origin. That's what this project has transformed into: A visual depiction of escapism, sibling and family life, tension, resolution and cyclical behavioral tendencies.
